Gearing up for outdoor living beginning with a table make-over...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So as the weather here in Florida nears that perfect state of warm and dry not hot and humid I find myself drawn to spending more time outdoors. This means getting the outdoor living space ready for play and entertaining.

First on that outdoor to-do list was figuring out what to do with our table. We had our carpenter create a very simple, pine table made from scrap wood from other projects we had completed around the house.

I decided to stain the table a dark color. I wanted a color that wasn't black but close to it but that still allowed some of the grain of the wood to show. I also wanted a matte finish. I think I did it.

 I still have some touching up to do and am planning on another coat of stain to the legs but am living with it for a while to see if it's really necessary. Here is the table pre-stain:
