It's that time again to share my creative process and see what you think. Even though I can't wait to see a finished piece, it really does take many trials before I actually get to a product that I think is ready for you.
For example, I am in the process of testing a new fabric stamp ink and a new color. If you remember from this post sometimes the color you start off with isn't always the color you end up with after washing. As a textile designer, you ABSOLUTELY need to make sure that your printed product will stand the test of time...or at least multiple washings.
So, I am pleased to say that this ink stood up to washing and drying! However, washing and drying once isn't enough. So I will actually run the above sample through the wash a few more times just to make certain that this new ink is a keeper.
Another part of my creative process is figuring out placement of the design. Often times I will print the design I am going to use on a swatch of fabric and then place it on whatever I plan on printing on. This allows me to move the design around and see what I like best before I actually print the final product.
In the above photos, I simply pinned in place my test print fabric swatch. I can easily move it up or down, even sideways if I'd like to get an idea of where I should place the design.
So now this is where YOU come in.
Do you prefer the design printed along the bottom of the pillow cover? Do you think in the middle is better? Or maybe you have a suggestion about placement?
I'd love to hear all and any feedback in the comments below. Thank you in advance!
Be well and live SIMPLY, live LOVELY.
